28 Years Later

Today, I officially enter my late twenties. Last year, there was some debate if 27 was mid or late twenties. There’s no debate about 28.

This could also be called the panic years of “oh crap. I hit 30 in two years and have yet to achieve ___________.”

I did surprisingly well on reaching all of the major goals I had by 25, but the goals get a little harder before 30. For example, I’ve always said that I want to be in a PhD program by the time I turn 30. While I would love to focus on academics again, financially I don’t want to re-enter the struggling student phase.

For those of you who are older than 30, what goals do you wish that you had achieved in your twenties? What should I try to accomplish before I enter the next decade? For those of you in my same boat, what are you trying to do before your proverbial “grownup years” start?
