Who’s Undecided in the House

Wondering who is undecided on health care? Smart Girl Politics has a list.

Looking over this list, many of these members are in very conservative districts and could be unseated next November, especially Melancon and Gordon.

If you are a Blue Dog or represent a fiscally conservative area, do you toe the party line and risk being out of a job  in 2011? What’s more important, obeying Madam Speaker or upholding your constitutional responsibilities to represent the views of your constituents?

Also note that it’s important to hold House members on all votes on the bill. If Pelosi is confident she has the votes, she may allow members in shaky districts to vote for cloture (vote to end debate) and vote against passage or abstain. Members who vote for cloture deserve to lose their seats. Pelosi is breaking a promise to post the bill online for at least three days. Voting for cloture signifies that a member agrees with President Obama and Democratic leadership in ramming this massive spending bill through before Americans have the chance to sufficiently debate it. A vote for cloture is a vote for the government takeover of our health care.
