Politics Can Be Funny

After a day of purposely not reading any news or political blogs in order to give myself a break, I think I’ve somewhat recovered from the end of society as we know it. (It’s going to get bad, folks.) Anyway, political satire is one of my favorite genres. I love books and movies mocking DC, particularly Christopher Buckley’s novels.

This week, I heard about Zolitics, a new online political entertainment channel. They launched with the first episode of Moving Numbers, a comedy about a Republican senatorial race in Pennsylvania. As it’s about campaign life, I think Democrats may relate to it as well :) . It’s worth a watch. The next episode is supposed to be up sometime next week.

Good political satire is one of my favorite genres also. I’m currently reading a really funny book called “Cancel Christmas” (author Rocco Leonard Martino). It uses humor to illustrate how power is abused in government and business. Can the observance of Christmas stand in the way of profit? Anyway, it’s pretty humorous satire!
